It feels almost a little unreal to write these lines. The time has come. The shop is online. And honestly, I can hardly believe it myself. After over a year full of planning, tinkering, late nights and lots of attention to detail, Artacarpa is finally online. And yes, I'm a little bit proud, because what started as a spontaneous idea turned into a permanent construction site, where "just a quick fix" often lasted until midnight.
All of this alongside my actual job, usually late at night, sometimes early in the morning, pretty much every day. Weekends were more theoretical, and Artacarpa will remain a side project in the future. And even though Artacarpa is just a side hustle, hopefully you won’t notice that in the ordering process. The shop is built in a way that everything runs automatically at the right moment, even if I'm not sitting at the computer.
The Core of the Idea
What has come to life here is not agency work, not a modular project, and definitely not a quick launch backed by a big team. Instead, it’s a one-man show with a clear vision: rugs that not only look good, but also fit perfectly to rooms, to people, to ideas.
The result: Over 1000 rug designs, available in your desired size, with a border color to match. From 50 x 50 cm up to 4 x 10 meters.
No standard sizes, no "only available in 160 x 230", no mental gymnastics to figure out if the rug might somehow fit with a little goodwill.
Alongside that, three carefully chosen qualities: functional, cozy, or luxurious. No gimmicks, no mass production, just rugs made in Germany.
What’s Coming Next:
And this is just the beginning. The design selection continues to grow. There will be exclusive special editions, strictly limited, or perhaps even designs that can only be purchased once.
The shop is also developing step by step. The next major step will be toward B2B. Business customers can already place rug orders, but this area will be more deeply integrated into the shop and expanded with suitable features in the future. Whether for interior projects, commercial rooms, or simply larger quantities: it can be custom-made here too.

Yes.
At least when you find yourself wanting to match custom-made rulers to the color of the logo. Only to realize that after testing nine special markers, the colors may have eventually matched, but the result was anything but harmonious.
But that’s just how it goes when you get lost in the little things, thinking they might make a difference in the end. And maybe they do at least a little, or at least that’s what I’ve been very successfully telling myself. :)
